This is the part of the course where our intellectual analysis meets the “real world”. Your job is to create a media analysis project – using communication technology as a foundation – to build a “great community”.
Think about how to build a great community using communication technology as we progress through this course – look for intellectual underpinnings of “communication technology” both historically and in the modern world for clues and ideas for your media analysis project.
Your first assignment is to develop a concept.
Your next step will be to craft a “mission statement”.
At the conclusion of the process – you will be responsible for a presentation to me. This will be your project “launch”.
We will be spending considerable time in class working on your project – through lecture and group work – applying the intellectual concepts of the course.
I am encouraging you to think creatively – to build a great community through communication technology.
